Blogging Again Soon

Hello! I'm peeking in to say hello, and let you know I am here, alive and well, and still very active in all things Sarah Jane! I stopped blogging for a spell kind of on accident...a gentle mix of winter ills, deadlines, post holiday slump and instagram taking the roll of communicating the stuff that's going on behind the scenes.

But also, because I'm building a new website, and a new blog, shop, etc. and You know...it always feels funny to update your old space while you're building a new one!

But I wanted to come on in and say hello, hope you are still here, and let you know that I'm planning on keeping the blog up but more so when I get the new site up at the end of the month! A perfect spring clean:)

I can't wait to show you the new site, which will be so wonderful so see so much more all in one place.

Thanks guys!

Sarah

Well, Hello There!

CLEARANCE-SLIDE-SHOW.jpg

I guess taking a month off blogging could have been something I warned you about. But alas, summer has taken over, and it's been a necessity that I take a step back for a bit. And I'm glad. We've had the best summer ever, and I'll recap over the next couple weeks for sure.

But I'm back! I do know that my blogging is changing. It's becoming one part more Instagrammed, and one  part needing to define my voice a bit. As a Business, it's important for me to not get too personal, but getting more personal is what got me starting to blog in the first place. I'm feeling the need to go back to that place, document my life as an artist and mother, and focus more on my process of everything I do. But as we all know, that takes time and thought, both of which have been hard to hunt down and chase with life with 4 children, all home for the summer and all the travel we've been doing. So, I'm looking forward to blogging again, and taking you with me on this awesome journey or motherhood, creativity and illustration.

But before I get you sitting down for too long, telling you stories and showing you all that's going on behind the scenes, let me dive right in and let you know that we've put a whole bunch of prints on clearance...the ones that we just can't ship out because they have minor, minor flaws. Like little ink marks on the edge of the paper...spots you wouldn't see once it's in a frame. So hurry on over...we've sold half of our inventory already, and I wouldn't want you to miss it!

We also have necklaces in the shop that are on clearance because we have overstock, and need to clear out since we have new ones that just came in!

I hope you are all having a lovely summer (or winter where ever you are in the world) And I'm excited to get back into visiting here more. Hope you haven't forgotten about this space. It's always good to take a break. But I'm ready to come back:)

Memorial Day Sale!

It's been a while since we've had a sale in the shop! I hope you enjoy browsing around with a little discount in your pocket! Use code MD20 at the time of checkout to get the discount. And while it's a national Holiday here in the USA, the discount applies worldwide:)

There are so many new prints in the shop, and it's been so delightful to see so many responding so well to the new collections. There are still a couple more fabric bundles left, so be sure to check that out as well!

Happy Memorial Day!

Parent & Child Magazine

I love working with print magazines. And while I've had features, or interviews, or reviews in magazines,  I've actually never had the privilege of illustrating an article before! So this is a first! This month, Parent & Child Magazine asked if I'd illustrated an article on mindfullness in kids. It's a great article that you can read online here. I'm a huge believer in teaching children meditation and giving children the tools they need to control their bodies and minds in order to be happy. So, naturally, I was thrilled!       My kids saw the magazine on the table before I could show them my feature, and Addie ran up to me and said, "Mom! Great article! I saw your drawings, and it looks great!" I love that I get to share my art with them, and that it speaks to their level of understanding.

Have a lovely week! We are busy in the studio with tons of orders, and getting ready for BYU Women's Conference this week. Will any of you be there? We have a booth at the BYU Bookstore....more on that later!   xo sarah . .

a few more, and counting.

So, after a bit of thought, I'm not going to be offering fabric bundles in the shop after this run. It was super fun to have them with the prints as a bundle, but with with the amount of illustration work I have (and mommy work) I've decided that cutting the folding fabric isn't something I want to keep up. I wanted to offer these so you had a decor package that you could design around, and get directly. So, if you were considering buying these, we only have a few left.

You can see the bundle here in the shop.

Happy Decorating!

Speaking to at Quilt Bliss

In less than 2 weeks, I'll be a keynote speaker at my first ever sewing conference. I've spoken to sewers before, but never for a 90 minute presentation. And I'm so excited! (And nervous...but who wouldn't be!)

Quilt Bliss is taking place in Timber Moose Lodge  (biggest private log cabin in the USA) and is sure to be an amazing retreat with plenty of inspiration, R&R and rejuvenation!

Individual classes are sold out, but day passes are still available.

Will you be attending Quilt Bliss? I'd love to know if you are! I'll be sure to share all about it when it's through!

See you there! xoxo
